What coaching is really like

What actually happens in a session

If part of you wants to reach out but another part isn’t sure what you’d be walking into — this is for you. Here’s exactly what coaching looks and feels like, start to finish.

“I don’t hand you a plan. I help you find your own answers — and coaching is a partnership the whole way through.”

01Where it begins

A free 30-minute clarity call

No pressure, no pitch. Just a real conversation.

Everything starts here. We hop on Zoom for about thirty minutes and simply talk — about where you are, what feels foggy or flat, and what you’d love to feel instead. You don’t need to have it figured out. That’s rather the point.

By the end, you’ll have more clarity than when you started, and you’ll know whether working together feels right. If it does, I’ll walk you through the options. If it doesn’t, there’s no hard feelings and no follow-up sequence chasing you down. You leave with something useful either way.

02The heart of it

What a weekly session feels like

Once we’re working together, we meet on Zoom for 45 to 60 minutes each week, from wherever you are. There’s a gentle rhythm to it — not a script, but a shape you’ll come to know and look forward to.

We land

We start where you actually are that day — not where you “should” be. A few minutes to arrive, breathe, and notice what’s present. Some weeks that’s energy and momentum; some weeks it’s tired and tender. Both are welcome.

We follow what matters

You bring what’s alive for you — a decision, a stuck spot, a win, a pattern you’re tired of. I ask questions, listen closely, and reflect back what I’m hearing. This is where the real work happens: not me telling you what to do, but the two of us uncovering what you already know underneath the noise.

We go a little deeper

Drawing on tools like motivational interviewing and behavior-change science — and my own Whole-Life Wheel — we look at what’s really driving the stuck feeling. Often it’s a belief running quietly underneath. We name it, gently, and try on a truer one.

We choose one next step

You leave with one clear, doable step that you chose — not a to-do list I assigned. Something small enough to actually happen this week, and meaningful enough to move you.

Just as reassuring

What a session is not

Not therapy

Coaching is forward-looking. We’re not excavating your past — we’re building toward who you want to become. It complements therapy beautifully, but it’s its own thing.

Not me telling you what to do

You’re the expert on your own life. My job is to ask the right questions and hold the space, not to hand you my plan for you.

Not homework you’ll dread

No one’s grading you. The steps are yours, chosen by you, sized to your real life — not a busy mom’s guilt list.

Not shame, hype, or pressure

You won’t be pushed, sold, or made to feel behind. Just met, honestly, exactly where you are.

03Over time

How the weeks build on each other

One session brings relief. A series of them brings change. Each week builds on the last, so the clarity you find early becomes momentum you can feel — and eventually, a way of living that’s actually yours. Depending on where you are, that looks like:

The only next step is a conversation

No plan to buy, nothing to decide today. Just thirty minutes to feel a little more like yourself again. I see you — and I’d love to meet you there.
